The Walker Bay Estate was founded in 2003 with the planting of our first vines. Since then the estate has grown into a fully functioning vineyard and winery, with its own state-of-the-art winery.

Our vitivulturist and award-winning wine maker, Anneke Steenkamp, is passionate not only about the quality of the wines, but also the terroir. Her hands-on approach to wine farming means that she can directly influence the flavour, aroma and quality of all our wines.

The vineyards are situated just outside the heritage village of Stanford. They extend from the Klein River towards the cold Atlantic Ocean. This special landscape results in a unique mix of different soil types on the farm including decomposed granite, shale and outcrops of limestone. The cool breezes intensify the flavours by allowing for a long ripening period.
Anneke's mentor and South Africa's wine legend, Theo Brinkman, visits our farm regularly and is always excited about the quality of wines we can make on this small estate. We are forever grateful for his guidance and input.

Nestled on the banks of the Klein River, with spectacular views of the Klein River Mountains, is our restaurant. Our Head Chef, Jana Conroy, offers beautifully presented modern contemporary dining. We use only the best locally sourced ingredients, as well as fruit and vegetables grown on our estate. Our regularly changing menu celebrates quality, seasonality and flavour.
Pair delicious meals with our beer fresh from our tanks and our wine produced from our own vines - even our water is bottled on the farm - all set in a spectacular setting and you really have a winning formula.
